Abstract
In this experiential workshop we present bf-pd and bf-web, software which allows non-co-located musicians to make connections and share data between instruments in real-time. In other words, they make it easier to have real-time spontaneous jam sessions, while accessing advanced modes of collaboration, using custom software instruments.
Bf-pd was originally designed for co-located networked collaboration. However, due to the current need for physical distance, we are developing bf-web, which enables fully telematic jamming.
We will learn to integrate bf-pd into our software instruments (examples will be provided), and we will use bf-web to engage in synchronous networked group improvisations.
Pd experience is not required, however, it should be installed on your computer.
